Wallington's residents were queuing up on Saturday morning in the high street in Wallington to sign a petition in favour of the Gurkhas.
Tom Brake MP, who launched the petition said, "The Gurkhas are willing to die for our country. We should honour their loyalty to the United Kingdom by allowing those who want to stay here to do so."
This view was widely supported by Wallington's residents, around two hundred of whom signed the petition within just a couple of hours.
The petition will be presented in Parliament.
