We call on the Government to stop the expansion of Heathrow by maintaining runway alternation and not building runway 3 and terminal 6.
Runway alternation means that residents do get some respite from aircraft landings and take offs. Alternating runways means that there are quiet periods in either the mornings or the afternoons.
We don't believe Heathrow should be expanded to include either a new 3rd runway or a brand new terminal 6. Any increase in capacity will further exacerbate the noise and environmental pollution in the skies surrounding Heathrow, with Carshalton identified as one of the areas that will suffer from increased aircraft noise and pollution.
We also believe that night flights should be stopped. At present there are on average 3250 night flights per year.
