10.17.13am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 15th Jun 2007

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington joined over 30 local businesses at one of the regular Givers Gain business breakfasts at the Duke's Head in Wallington Green early Thursday (14th June) morning.

Tom Brake, who helped launch the Givers Gain network about a year ago, commented "In the last twelve months, the network has shown strong growth. This is good for local business and good for local employment."

Givers Gain puts different types of local businesses in contact with each other so they give each other business.

Tom Brake, who was the speaker at their meeting said, "This meeting helped me to identify some of the big challenges local businesses face; whether it is complying with Ken Livingstone's emissions regulations for lorries or trying to identify top quality office premises locally."
