Tom Brake, MP from Carshalton and Wallington, along with Lib Dem London Mayoral Candidate, Brian Paddick, took their fight against the closure of one hundred and seventy post offices in London and four in Carshalton to number 10 Downing Street on Tuesday.

With more than a thousand signatures collected so far in Carshalton and hundreds of extra signatures arriving every week, this petition could match in size the 5,000 plus who have signed Tom Brake's Save Our St Helier petition.

Tom Brake remarked, "Thousands will be affected by these closures in Carshalton and hundreds of thousands across London. These cuts will affect Senior Citizens most because they often depend upon local, small post offices and often the alternative post office that is being suggested will be inaccessible."

Tom and Brian delivered the first batch of signatures to the Prime Minister at no 10 on Tuesday but have promised to 'be back'.
