Local residents and Tom Brake are joining forces to try and get the law changed

Tom Brake took residents' concerns about 'Your High', the shop in Wallington selling drugs paraphernalia, to one of the UK's most senior police officers, Ken Jones, the President of the Association of Chief Police Officers on Wednesday.

In the high level meeting, Tom pressed ACPO's President to ensure residents' views are heard during the review of the legislation as it applies to the sale of drugs paraphernalia and cannabis seeds. ACPO have been tasked by the Home Office with looking at existing laws to see whether there is any scope for restricting or closing premises like 'Your High'.

A meeting with the senior police officer leading the review is expected to take place in Wallington soon.

Shortly after the meeting, Tom heard that he had secured a slot for his Ten Minute Rule Bill in Parliament on Wednesday. He will be pressing for cannabis seeds to be included within the scope of the Drugs Misuse Act to make their sale illegal.
