Chief Constable to Meet with Worried Parents over 'Your High'

2.27.01pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 25th Jul 2008

Chief Constable of Humberside Police, Tim Hollis has agreed to meet with Tom Brake MP, teachers, governors and parents worried about 'Your High', a shop in Wallington selling drugs paraphernalia.

The Chief Constable is leading a review set up by the Home Office to look at existing laws to see whether there is any scope for restricting the activities of or closing shops like 'Your High.'

Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington said, 'I am very pleased that the Chief Constable will be able to hear directly from parents about their worries about this shop. It is unbelievable that it is able to trade in drugs paraphernalia just round the corner from a primary school.

He added, 'Hopefully this review will show the inconsistencies that exist within the current law and recommend urgent action to plug this legal loophole.'

Earlier in the month Tom introduced a bill in Parliament to make the sale of cannabis seeds, which are sold at 'Your High', illegal.
